Xero Shoes refers to the Prio Neo (womens and mens) as the “ultimate athleisure shoe.” The company’s best selling athletic shoe, the Prio, has been updated into the Prio Neo. It comes in multiple colors for men and women.  For women, there are five choices: black, asphalt, blue, gray, and white:

The Prio Neo – as is the case with all Xero Shoes – has a wider toe box than typical sneakers. This allows toes to spread out and move freely – the way our toes are naturally supposed to!

My daughter’s pediatrician, actually, has completely made the shift from Hokas to Xero shoes.  He shared with us that after years and years of wearing cushy shoes, his arches were very weak and in pain.  His shift to Xero shoes has strengthened his arches.  My daughter, who has hyperflexibility issues with her joints, is now also wearing Xero shoes. The Prio Neo shoes featured in this article are hers.

Here are some things she says she enjoys about her Prio Neos:

  • She likes how flexible, “bendy” the shoes are.
  • She likes the long laces.
  • She likes the support straps on the sides and the back of the shoes for her ankles.
  • She feels like her feet can breathe. Her feet do not feel “suffocated.”
  • She likes the color choices. She chose the gray/purple combination because she thought it would match a lot of her outfits.

What she does not like about her Prio Neos:

  • These shoes can make her calves sore! She does take breaks to wear other shoes some days. The reason, of course, that her calves get sore is because they are getting stronger from wearing minimalist shoes.

To wrap up, we think the Prio Neo is attractive, comfortable, and lightweight.  We’d encourage anyone who wants to strengthen their foot muscles (and leg muscles!) to give the Prio Neo – or any Xero Shoes style – a try!
