Tested through a Colorado summer—here’s how it held up
When you’re camping with your family, you need a tent that’s tough, spacious, and ready for whatever nature throws your way. The Aurora Highrise 6-person tent from NEMO checks all those boxes.
We used it throughout a full Colorado summer—through blazing sun, sudden rainstorms, and even a round of hail. It handled everything like a champ. This tent is built for real-world family adventures.
Roomy Enough for a Family (and Then Some)
We chose the 6-person version specifically for the extra space. For our family, two adults and a child in a cot, it was more than enough. We had space to sleep comfortably and still had room for our gear at our feet. If you like room to stretch out, the extra size is worth it.
Straightforward Setup
Setting up the Aurora Highrise is simple and intuitive. That said, with a tent this size, having a second person makes the process a lot easier, especially when it’s windy. I would also recommend an extra pair of hands when taking the tent down. Folding, rolling, and packing the tent will be much easier with two people.
Tip: Take time to stake it down well. There is a lot of surface area to catch the wind and we had a few stakes get pulled out of the ground when they weren’t fully secured.
Dual Doors + Rainfly = Convenience and Coverage
One of the most thoughtful features of the Aurora Highrise tent is the dual door design. The tent has a large double door on one side and a single door on the other. That, paired with the included rainfly, gives you two vestibules which are ideal for stashing shoes, packs, or muddy gear.
Interior Highlights
At 6’5″, I can stand up fully inside the Aurora Highrise without issue. I can also lay down comfortably too. A few more design details I appreciated:
- Windows for airflow on hot days (and they held up fine in rain)
- Gear storage pockets around the tent
- A headlamp diffuser built into the top for soft, ambient lighting at night
Final Thoughts on the Aurora HighRise 6p Tent
The Aurora Highrise 6P has proven itself to be a durable, well-designed tent that strikes the right balance between comfort and function. Whether you’re a weekend camper or gearing up for longer trips, it’s a great option for families or anyone who values a little extra space.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely.
